Joan MacFarlane of Moncton, passed away on Monday, January 8th, 2018 at Monarch Hall. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Renwick and Winnifred Edith Elliott.
Joan was predeceased by her first husband Roy London in 1977. Joan and Roy raised 3 wonderful daughters and they had many happy years together. Joan was a talented seamstress and for over 25 years sewed all her children's, and much of her grandchildren's, clothing. After Roy's passing, Joan found love again marrying Bill MacFarlane in 1981. Joan and Bill loved to host family and friends at Victoria Manor in Albert County. They were never as happy as when hosting parties for all they knew. Bill sadly passed away in 2012.
Joan is survived by her daughters: Lynne (the late Darrell) Jarvis of Halifax NS, Cynthia (James) MacFarlane, and Shelley London (Chris Everett) both of Riverview; sister Patricia (Earl) Killam and brother Robert (Jodie) Elliott; grandchildren: Shelley's children: Courtney, Spencer and Ross Hopper, Lynne's children: Joy, Jenna, Christopher, Craig, and Joni-Lynne; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her sister Hazel O'Brien, and brothers Edward Elliott and Raymond Elliott.
As Joan would have loved, an Open House will take place for friends and family on Friday, January 12th at 179 Rue Des Copains in Dieppe between 11am and 7pm.
