Nancy "Nan" Dawn Popovich


Nancy "Nan" D. Popovich, 70, of Moncton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.  Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Arvilla (Brown) Matchett.  Nan was the Owner / Operator of the family convenience store, Pro Variety and worked at the Rite Stop at Peoples Park Tower. She attended Brentwood Baptist Church and most recently Glad Tidings Church. Nan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, travelling, reading and baking. She was famous for her delicious pies that many people were lucky to get!  Nan will be sadly missed by her daughter, Tracey Slater (Greg) of Berry Mills; her precious grandson, Matthew; sisters, Millie Stewart (Don) and Judy Procter (late Keir); brothers, Earl Matchett (Alice), Sonny Matchett (Phyllis) and Scott Matchett (Sharon); and several special nieces and nephews, special great nieces and nephews and extended family members.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Popovich (2002) and brothers, Roger Matchett and Ted Matchett.  Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Nan’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 am with Dr. Seth Crowell officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Center. Interment will be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.  In memory of Nan, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Coronary Care Unit) or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
