Rita Marie Hynes

Rita M. Hynes, 94, of the Villa du Repos and formerly of Mapleton Road, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.  Born in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Lea (Robichaud) Bourgeois.  Rita was the former Co-Owner of Hynes Restaurant, Moncton and attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a former volunteer with The Moncton Hospital Pastoral Care Department and enjoyed dancing, music, travelling, crafts and time spent with her family and friends.  Rita will be sadly missed by her daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Carpenter (Al Cormier) and Patricia Fraser, both of Moncton; grandchildren, David, Jim (Janet), Susan (Rod) and Michael; great grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Joshua, Ashley, Ryan and Meagan; great great grandson, Mason; sister, Theresa Cormier of Moncton and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Hynes (June 1972); sisters, Helen and Nora; brothers, Fred and Emery; sons-in-law, Gordon Carpenter and Tom Fraser.  In keeping with Rita’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. A private family interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, in the spring.  Rita’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Villa du Repos for the care and compassion shown to Rita and her family during the past 14 months.  Arrangements under the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).  In memory of Rita, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (Oncology) or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
