Jean Phyllis King

Jean P. King, 83, of New Scotland, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2018.  Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva (Goguen) Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence King (March 30, 1980); daughter, Shirley Carter; brothers, Ivan and Cecil; sisters, Fay, Ivy, Della and Gloria.  Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. An avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, karaoke, singing and playing guitar, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and being outdoors with all nature had to offer. In earlier years, she enjoyed taking fishing trips with Clarence and every once in a while, having a cold beer.  Jean will be sadly missed by her daughters, Cora Hubbert (John), of New Scotland, with whom she resided for thirteen years and Hazel King (Phil) of Moncton; cherished grandchildren, Todd, Lisa, Derek, Ashley and Jennifer; two great grandchildren, Austin and Molly; brother, Everett Wilson and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, followed immediately by a Service to celebrate and honour Jean’s life at 2:00 pm in Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery later in the spring.  Donations in Jean’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the NB Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
