Jean-Paul Cormier, 79, of Villa Providence, Shediac, passed away on Friday, October 5th, 2018 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Eddie and the late Lina (née: LeBlanc) Cormier. Prior to retirement, Mr. Cormier had worked as a teacher. He was a member of Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption parish. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Gould; three sisters: Pauline (late Denis) Laverdure of Montreal, Elva (late Emile) Bourgeois of Shediac and Helen (late Bill) Pyke of Halifax; one brother, Omer (Georgie) of Moncton; one sister-in-law, Ann Cormier of Moncton; one brother-in-law, Don Belliveau (Gloria) of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters: Jeannette and Huberte and also by three brothers: Hervé, Eric and Arthur. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Tuesday from 1 pm until time of departure. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, Moncton on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 at 3 pm. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe. Donations to Maison Nazareth or to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
