Donald Henry Desforges, 72, of Dieppe, passed away on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton. Born in Sudbury, ON, he was the son of the late Adelard and the late Ernestine (née: LeBlanc) Desforges. Prior to retirement, Don was a contract manager in the mining and diamond drilling industry. His work afforded him the ability to travel the world. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or de Dieppe and Sainte-Thérèse Parish. He is survived by his wife, Claudette Labrie-Desforges; two sons: Kevin (Andie) of Aurora, ON and Donald Jr. (Ashley Padmore) of Scarborough, ON; one sister, Claudette (John) Jordan of Marathon, ON; one brother, Richard (Leila) of Thunder Bay, ON; one sister-in-law, Monique of Sturgeon Falls, ON; five grandchildren: Jenna-Lee, Sydney, Jake, Trinity and Maximillian; the extended Labrie family, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Micheal and Aurele. Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Saturday from 10 am until time of service. A Celebration of the Word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario at a later date.
